To sit in a church for an hour or more every week listening to somebody spout off about things I disagree with would not make me live longer. The stress wouldn't be good for my blood pressure. :|

it has nothing to do with religion its about being together with people and doing stuff, which has been proven to increase lifespan as well.

Try sitting in church and having your mother spontaneously (and loudly) channel God in the middle of worship (singing) service.

At least it *was* interesting (and it wasn't my mother, thank goodness!)....

It's a tough job, but someone's gotta do it.

Anyways, I'm not trying to change their views...but if i got long winded...I could raise some eyebrows again 🙂

There are those of us theists who might consider atheists in the same light. It can be argued that atheism is taking the easy way out, since it does not require constant, continuous self-reflection, and requires no element of faith. Once you make up your mind, that's it; question answered. It must be nice to live a life where you've already figured out all of the answers, instead of constantly searching for the truth. 😉
