Take the poll - How conservative/liberal would you rate yourself?

I don't really identify with any political leaning... I take each issue as it comes and try to decide what makes the most sense to me. I've got views that swing from left to the right.

Conservative/Libertarian but...

The Republican party is far from what I define as conservative, except when it comes to religious values.

The Libertarian party is far too extreme.

🙁

I agree, although the liberterians were okay this year. They got a few votes for various poisitions in state from me last election.

I tend to go more with the republicans, but they are getting to be the party of religious wackos, not fiscal conservatives/small gov't. If someone of Frist's ilk runs in 08, and the Dems run anyone close to moderate (hell, Kerry would be better), I'll vote D in 08.

I voted very conservative, but also have some libertarian leanings as well.

so what you are saying is you are somewhat conservative but you were a moron and voted very?

Keep the petty attacks in P&N, please.

No, because this poll basically only gives two options, liberal or conservative. Libertarian is not an option, and I have no liberal qualities, so I voted very conservative.

I do agree that the poll is flawed, due to it's lack of liberterian. I demand you amend the poll for people who agree with the (former) fiscal views of the repubs, but don't at all agree with their social agenda, and who also do not agree with the dem's nanny state (IMO) plan.

I call BS with how the poll is going so far. Maybe it's only the liberals who post and whine, but there is not way this forum is mostly conservative.

Actually that is kind of why I was curious.. it seemed to me that ATOT was quite liberal... but the poll so far is telling a different story.
AT seems to be quite anti-Republican. Which, these days, really says nothing about how conservative or liberal you are.

QFT = Quoted For Truth, not Quit Fvcking Talking ...

I know a lot of people who think it's the latter 😛

It really can mean either or, but in my case I meant it to be quoted for truth.

As a libertarian, I fit no place on your poll.

Since I am all about economic freedom and personal responsibility, I voted "somewhat conservative."

However, I tend to disagree with the right wing platform as often as I do the left. But in practice, I see the left as being a larger danger to my rights and freedoms than the right.

A libertarian is very liberal socially, and very conservative fiscally. It means we want both individual social freedom AND individual economic freedom.

Government's ONLY purposes should be to protect individual rights and national defense/foreign relations.
