Raspewtin - I didn't know No Doubt remade that song... are you sure you're not thinking of Save Ferris? They sound somewhat alike... ska bands with female singers.

<edit>chef, ya beat me to it. :)</edit>

I love Save Ferris:)

Anyways:

Sweet Dreams: Eurythmics
Fine Young Cannibals: She Drives me Crazy
Roxette: She's got the Looks
Depeche Mode: Enjoy the Silence

Almost anything by the Cure

Umm... that song Shattered Dreams...I forget who it's by though.

Depeche Mode: Shake the Disease :)
INXS : Never Tear us Apart
OMD : If you leave
New Order : Bizzare Love Triangle
Tears for Fears : Head over Heels

Of course, how can we forget "Party all the time" by Eddie Murphy and "heartbeat" by Don Johnson? :p

There was this one song my friend liked a lot, "I can dream about you" (it was part of a big movie), but I can't remember the artist.

EDIT Out of curiosity, what did you all think about "Died in you arms" by cutting crew?

Anything from Metallica's 80's albums is all you need:
Kill 'em All
Ride The Lightning
Master Of Puppets
...And Justice For All

I loved Died In Your Arms, its one of my favorite 80's song. And White Wedding is another one. What about Fleetwood Mac? They had some good songs in the 80's, but now my mind is blank trying to think of the names...

Atom: That song was from Eddie and the Cruisers, or Street's of Fire, but I cannot remember the name! It sucks being sick... ;)

My favorite 80s band is U2...even though they have lots of 90s stuff as well. Thats about as far back as I'll go!

Don't forget The FIXX (Red Skies at Night)

or INXS (Don't Change)

or Blondie (Heart of Glass/Rapture)

naturally, The Cure (A Forest)

The B-52's had much good music as did The Cult.

And that's just some good "alternative" 80s (not yet mentioned).

I just couldn't do ONE 80's CD - maybe on DVD.

Thanks DaveJ...I have the song, just too lazy to look it up. Have to toss in a few more songs: "Always on My Mind" by Pet Shop Boys (I think that was in the 80's), "Spin Me Round" by uh...too lazy to check..., "Time to Remember" by Billy Joel (any Billy Joel is good), and Extreme's "More than Words"...

What was that song by the Outfield?

Burning down the House by ?

Dang it. I'm no good at remembering groups and song titles... Can sing 'em word for word when I hear 'em, just can't recall any of them....

Musta been all that studying clogging up my brain.... Yeah, that's it. ;)

Edit: "Spin Me Round" is by the group Dead or Alive. :D
