Now i wanna sit down and have a marathon showing of the series again. Maybe I'll do that on Saturday.

Firefly is the awesomest show......oh how I heart my captain tight pants. <3

I've watched the DVD set easily half a dozen times and it never gets old. It would have usurped B5's place as my favorite scifi series had it kept on going, I've no doubt. Damn thee, Fox network!

just got done watching the series and the movie, simply great. Much better paced than many sci-fi shows. Also much better acting and effects of course.

Yeah, Jaynestown is probably my favorite...that or Our Mrs. Reynolds.

has anybody seen the easter egg in the dvd's of the series? it's of Adam Baldwin (jayne) sitting down for an interview and singing "the Hero of Canton" all the way through. It was pretty awesome. lol.

AS for me, my favorite episode would probably have to be all of them lol..but if i really had to choose I'd say Out of Gas (<3 Mal, especially at the end when he saw Serenity for the first time), and War Stories...this is the one where Wash and Mal get taken by Niska right? if so...(<3 Wash too). Oh and maybe Trash cause Mal was nekkid. yea...w00t.

"Wanna meet the real me now?"

My favorite is Lost In Space episode <The captain tried to fix the ship by himself and flashbacks>. Mrs Reynolds with the red head, very nice looking gal.

I still think, the way it aired, "train robbery" first, it ought to have been cancelled. It's really a slow show and unless you're emotionally engaged with it, you find it tough to care.

Plus I HATED Buffy and Angel and the whole train robbery episode was stolen pieces from other movies and it gave me a bad impression. Watching it again, after Serenity and the real pilot, it was far more compelling.

Take me out to the black
Tell them I ain't comin' back

There's no place I can be
Since I found Serenity
But you can't take the sky from me... :music:

Now see what you made me do?

The Man they call Jayne!

Oh, He robbed from the rich
and he gave to the poor.
Stood up to the man
and he gave him what for.
Our love for him now
ain't hard to explain.
The hero of Canton
the man they call Jayne.

Our Jayne saw the mudders' backs breakin'.
He saw the mudders' lament.
And he saw the Magistrate takin'
every dollar and leavin' five cents.
So he said: "You can't do that to my people."
said "You can't crush them under your heel."
So Jayne strapped on his hat
and in 5 seconds flat
stole everythin' Boss Higgins had to steal.

Oh, He robbed from the rich
and he gave to the poor.
Stood up to the man
and he gave him what for.
Our love for him now
ain't hard to explain.
The hero of Canton
the man they call Jayne.

Now here is what separates heroes
from common folk like you and I.
The man they call Jayne
he turned 'round his plane
and let that money hit sky.

He dropped it onto our houses
he dropped it into our yards.
The man they called Jayne
he stole away our pain
and headed out for the stars!

(Here we go!)

He robbed from the rich
and he gave to the poor.
Stood up to the man
and he gave him what for.
Our love for him now
ain't hard to explain.
The hero of Canton
the man they call Jayne...

I didn't get into it until after it was cancelled and re-aired on SciFi, but I do think it is an excellent series. I really wish they kept it around. Sure it was slow at times, but I think it served the show well; it actually had plot and character development, both of which are found to be lacking in most television shows today.

I watched the special features of Disc 4 earlier today and was surprised to find out that Joss felt the same way you do. She had to pack on 20 pounds to secure the role!
