Take it easy when you drive!

Another rant:

It seems that more and more people are driving like crazy nuts these days. Hardly anyone signals, and everyone drives so fast. Please slow down, use your signal, and take it easy. You are not going to get where ever your going must faster by speeding in traffic. So what if you get to the next red light one car ahead of me. Leave enought room between you and the car in front of you.

If you've ever been in an accident you are probably much more of a careful driver now. Tell your friends that haven't been in accidents what it's like.

Take a deep breath when you get caught in traffic. Just accept the situation and put on some nice music and relax. It's not worth driving like a maniac. You are only risking your life and the life of others around you.

USE YOUR SIGNAL. I'm tired of people just changing lanes without signaling. No, we dont' know that you are going to change lanes if you don't use your signal. It takes minimal effort to flip the signal. USE IT, IT'S THE LAW!

And for god sakes make sure you turn you signal off, I hate getting stuck behind someone that drives 10 miles with their signal on!

Drivers, why do you insist on throwing your nasy ass cigarette butts out the window. You think that anything outside your car window is one big ash tray. :|

thanks dady, but i already knew this. i've been driving for 4 years and I havent gotten one single ticket or accicent (knocks on wood).

and there are times i speed. but i am careful.

hahah entire shoulder would be a giant parking lot...before you know it corporations will open up drive thru's on the freeway.

Just today on the way to work I counted approximately how many people signaled and how many people didn't. Less then 1/2 the people used their signal. PATHETIC!

ive seen this sht happen on freeways.. man if one of those buds were ever to hit my car.. OMG its over!

Man I admit I get raged at times when driving but I think I have a reason to be.. seems that the majority of the times when I see a crappy drivers they are on the cell phone.. one hand on the phone the other on the steering wheel... I hope CA will inforce headsets only..

Heh that's a good one. If someone's tailgating you, hit the hazard lights and then turn them off a second later. The car behind you will probably think you've hit the breaks, and will slam on theirs as you speed up and continue on your way.

When someone is talkgaiting me I just very lightly tap the brakes which doesn't slow down my car, but lights up my brake lights.

I am a religious turn signaler. I always put mine on and it's a pet peeve of mine when people don't signal.
A lot of people will signal obvious things like turning left in the left turn lane, but god forbid they should signal a lane change. People don't seem to realize that turn signal when changing a lane can prevent an accident. It gives the other driver a warning and they can take action to prevent being hit.

As for signals being on for 10 miles, when changing lanes, most cars have a point on the stalk where the turn signal will activate but not lock on. Using that position helps prevent forgotten signals when changing lanes.

One thing I do think that would be a nice feature, is a reminder from the car when your turn signal has been on for more than say 5 minutes.

As for cell phones, New York made it law, use a headset or get a ticket. Works well but it needs to be enforced a bit more before people will actually follow it.

I remember the last thread on cigarette butts, smokers complain it makes their car smell awful when they put it out in the car. One suggestion to help is to keep a tupperware container in say the drinkholder with some water in it. When your done with your cigarette just throw the butt in the container and reseal it. No $500 fines or angry drivers for throwing butts out your window and no smell either.
