No, option 3 implies that the pennies I take from the tray are about equal to the pennies I drop in the tray. I don't use the tray at all so option 3 does not apply.
Uh, you take 0 and leave 0. Last time I checked, 0 == 0.

Wow you are dense.

Care to explain my statement is wrong?

It's already been explained a few posts up.

I don't really recall leaving pennies, but I did take 9 pennies from two different trays recently to avoid having to break another bill, haha.

Very common at the school's snack shops. I don't like carrying around too much change, so definitely left more. I don't remember the last time I took from the tray.

I always pay with paper, take coins and stash them away at home. On the few times I needed or had only pennies, I'm approx even.

I leave more because I don't like carrying change in my pockets. I leave less than I used to due to the fact I use a debit now versus cash.

I never have change anyway. So unless I need to pay less than 5 cents in change, I don't take. Most of the time, I leave my non-quarters.

Gotta penny? leave a penny...
Need a penny? take a penny...
Gotta a dollar? leave a dollar..
Need a dollar? Fill out an application.

I wish more places had a leave a penny cup/tray. I would just dump them in before I left. Also I feel like an ass saying keep the change when it's like a few cents, but I keep a cup at home for most of my change. I use most of my change for stamps.

I never put my pennies in the tray, and I don't take any myself, but if the clerk pulls one or two from the tray to round off my purchase, I don't object. So I guess I take more.

I definitely am a taker. I keep my change in a glass at home and then go to my credit union to deposit it (they have a free coin sorter machine thing). I've only taken a penny or two a couple times though.

edit: wtf, people throw away pennies? :confused:

I never take or leave pennies. I flick them as soon as I walk out the door if i have them, for the hobos.
