Good deal if you can somehow get out of shipping costs:

Subtotal: 25.50
Coupon offer (10% savings): -2.55
Subtotal: 22.95
Shipping: 8.05
Tax: 0.00
Total: 31.00

So for me, the shipping makes it not as good as shop4tech.com's 100 pack for $31 - 10% coupon = $27.90 (free shipping)

Why do people still buy 4x media? I assume these would burn at 8x; however, don't the majority of users out there now use 16x?

dont you get a better burn at a lower speed ?
I dont mind burning at 4x.

I only have an 8x burner.

I think a lot of people bought 8x burner when they were cheap not knowing that 16x would be just as cheap in 8 months.

I have 3 8x burners. I don't mind waiting 10 minutes to burn a full disk.

ouch! $8.24 makes this more than the current deal from shop4tech found HERE
$8.64 shipping to my to my zip.

Which makes it nearly $31.64 total for me (almost .32 cents a disc)

Shop4tech has the same ones for $27.90 AC shipped free.

Staples has Sony branded T-Y T02 (8x DVD+R, the -R are Taiwanese) at $16. for a 50-pack (as always, look for the MiJ on the label. Not as good a deal as the above but convenient.

.bh.

As mentioned in OP, many of these discs are showing up as TYG02 and TYG03, in other words, 8x and 16x media. It seems that TY is throwing some of its 8x and 16x stock in together with the "value" 4x discs.

I bought 100 from shop4tech a couple weeks ago, unfortunately lost the crapshoot -- received the 4x discs as advertised. They still burn no problem at 8x in my NEC 3520A though. Many have reported getting teh 16x discs though, so YMMV (for the better!)
