Searched and didn't find so here goes.

100 pack spindle of Taiyo Yuden 52X CDRs. These are "BO" Blacked out disks. I bought a spindle today at Surplus Computers. They are a Blue-gray in color, (more gray), and I can see an imprint of "Wal-Mart Digital Photo Center" on the top. On the bottom it has ""Fujifilm Digital Album CD". Again, this imprint isn't very visible. It's been covered over. I ID them with Nero Toolkit and they are indeed Taiyo Yuden. At Surplus Computers they were many boxes of spindles that said "Made In Japan" on the side. Please don't crap in this thread about how no one uses CDRs anymore. There are plenty of us who do. So do the rest of us a favor, if it doesn't interest you, move on.

Here's the link. 100 pack of Taiyo Yuden

I edited the title to reflect 48X and 52X burning speed possibilities.

From the website of surplus computers:
Description: WHAT THE HECK IS "BO" MEDIA?!?!? "BO" stands for "Blacked Out" which is what is done to the silk screened media. The old silk screened graphics are covered with a nice black ink so the old graphics are not highly visible. "BO" media was silk-screened but has NEVER BEEN BURNED and work absolutely flawlessly! Taiyo-Yuden the brand of the media which is in our spindles. Taiyo-Yuden media are replicator grade and has a failure rate of less than .00001 The speed of the media is usually 52x but may have a few 48x pieces mixed in the bundles.

The website says Ground shipping is 7.74 for one spindle, 9.17 for two spindles and 11.53 shipping for three spindles.

Quick Question: If these CD-Rs are indeed "blacked-out", can they still be written on with a standard blue/black/red sharpie or must one purchase a silver marker for labeling? If I can still write on the discs than this deal is HOT! But if not, it may be quite frustrating trying to figure what disc is what without a proper form of marking as I use standard sharpies.

I used my extra fine point black Sharpie to see how easy it was to read. As far as I am concerned, it looks and reads fine. As I said before, it's gray/blue ink over the silkscreen and its not that dark.

To the poster that said they may be fake TYs. Well, anything is possible. But someone is going to a lot of trouble silkscreening the Fujifilm logo (of which many TYs are Fuji's), and putting them in boxes of 6 spindles and then labeling them MIJ. The CDR identifier code is the exact same as my retail MIJ Fuji's I bought from OM earlier this year. The mfg ID reads: Taiyo Yuden (97m44s01f).

MK473C0333080 is the number on the inner ring of the spindle (label/top side)
80 PG1170 is a number stamped on the reverse side (the dye side) on the inner ring

The following is the same typr numbers from a Retail 48X Fuji MIJ
PK373L0099880
80 PG1206

The following is an old Retail Fuji MIJ that was 16X rated.
IM369E0966980
80 PG1323

Guys, this is as much info as I can give you. I feel they are genuine. In fact I am going back to pick up two more spindles today.

edid:
The Nero Tool indicates these are 48X burning CDRs. I'll edit the title to reflect this.

Could you burn a test data disc with Nero CD/DVD Speed and show us the error graph?
I got some "fake" TY media once and errors were all over the charts. Then got some authentic and was much more noticeable in massive lower error counts.

I forgot the website that tells you which websites are selling fake TY and which ones are not.. If these are real then that is one hell of a good idea. I never even herd of BO before. I dont trust it.

I bought a stack of these.

The black~out silkscreen they use has an terrible smell to it when you're burning a disc & some of the silkscreen material flakes onto the next disc in the stack but is easily removed.

Mine were WalMart Photo Discs & are definitely TY's. Overall I'm happy but the first time I smelled that disc I thought something in my PC had gone south.

Nice deal. :)
