The original Shop4tech deal is back. Until December the 18th the coupon of "Xmas10" will get you 10% off any order. So it makes the deal as follows:

100 TY DVD-R for $31.00 - 10% off = $27.90 wiht free shipping.

Or you can buy in bulk and get it for even less per disc.

I bought 200 of these last week on the 10% off w/free shipping deal, and received them today. They come without a stacking ring, shrink wrapped with a white label on the wrap that says "Value DVD-R".

Using Nero, the media code checked out as TYG01 (as advertised). I tested the quality of the disks (2 samples) using Nero utilities and the results were absolutely excellent. This is some good stuff. I usually buy the Ritek 4X DVD-R?s (media code Ricoh JPNR01), and these are my first Taiyo Yuden?s. I can understand the glowing reviews of the Taiyo Yuden DVD media now.

Thanks for the input...I was going to ask about the quality since I only use Riteks...

I bought this same media last week from supermedia store for the same price. It is good media. I burned about ten already with no problem with my NEC 2500A dual layer firmware.

I got a 100 pack about a week ago. I've burned about 60 of them at 8x with my 3520A and they all work perfectly.

I wonder if these are real TY's. I am in need of some DVD's to burn for other people as passouts and for my own use with my NEC 3500. Anybody else order these and test them yet?

Amazon has Verbatim 8X -R dvd 100 pack for 29.99 deleivered

What would you get?

i just recieved mine and burned about 20 so far, burning between 2x and 8x.
All came out great using a Pioneer 106B.

I got the ones from supermediastore, which I believe are the same as these. I burned a few and gave them to my girlfriend; she said they worked fine in her brother's ps2.

I burned 4 DVD movies using this media last night in my Pioneer DVR-108 with modded firmware. I burned 1 at 4X and 3 at 8X. Flawless.

so you devils persuaded me to blow 55 bucks on 200 of these babies just so i can get a few markers (my sharpie is drying) anywho, i was waiting for confirmation email and it never came... but then i go into check my status on shop4tech and its already shipped! weird! are you guys getting any emails from shop4tech?

Same here, got them from supermedia cheaper but did pay shipping, but burn great

Thanks OP,

I've been having burn problems with the discount DVD's I've bought through various deals at B&M's and just read a thread on DVD media quality - it is staggering how much I do not know about DVD media - so decided to try to stop some of the bad burn probs by buying decent media. This along with the 10% off coupon was a decent price so I have my fingers crossed that all will be well from now on with my dvds!
