Taisol Heatsink/Fan

This probably a stupid question, but I would like to know before I do it. Is that Taisol hard to install? I mean the clamp, is it easy to accidentally crack the CPU?

I have the forged one and I have to say that it's easily on of the easiest heatsink to install and to take out. There is a little tab where you put a right sized screwdriver and your set.

The "easiest" heatsink for socket A is still pretty damn hard. When I first installed my 733 HSF I was streaming with sweat because I though I was going to break something, mainly my 1.1 Ghz prize. When you apply force with a screwdriver, it's not all that simple. You can easily slip and bust a hole through your motherboard or end up putting too much force on the die.

Anyways I would "practice" trying without the actual chip in place first if you're a bit nervous. And don't forget the thermal paste.

it also helps to put on the cpu and heatsink on the motherboard before you install it in the case

Yeah...I admit I was pretty nervous when I put it on the first time (also didn't want to break my pride and joy "t-bird 1GHz @ 1.2GHz&quot but to my suprise, I went on in less then 4 secs. pretty easy for me. Granted I hade to take out my PSU first to give me a better angle. Since then I've removed and replaced it 5 times w/ each time taking less then a couple secs. Compared to my cromeorb...very easy. But that was just my experience.

By the way, I don't know about the 733 but my CGK742092 has a notch where you put in the screwdriver and it's pretty much stuck...just make sure you get the exact size screwdriver i guess.

One tip that I read was to NOT tilt the hsf on when installing it............
set the hsf down flat on the cpu and then attach the retaining clips, short one first (if there is a difference in length).........

I don't remember any real problem replacing the FOP32-1 on my KT7 w/the Taisol CGK ...........
I used a pair of needle nose pliers w/blunt tips (Not the smooth-jawed ones)!
it went easier than I had anticipated ............

i craked my first 1GHZ TBIRD because my elbow slipped
when i was installing the global win fop38 cause you had to put SOO MUCH Pressure.
the heatsink made a scrape on the top of the CHIP and renderred it useless.
But thank god they gave me a replacement chip, but instead i went with with
the ALPH PAL6035 because i thought the alpha was so much easier to clip on.
