I just got a Taisol CGK760092 with the stock fan. I'm still getting the same temp as before on a Iwill KK266. The temp is 47C. Is this normal?

LOL, that would be funny. But I don't think they ship CKG760s.

Did you clean off the compound and apply a new, thin layer?

I got a Taisol in my Compaq PC from Best Buy🙂 It's a Duron CPU too, but it doesn't say which Taisol it is...

i wouldent think so... i just got the same thing, and some artic silver II, and i am overclocked a full 150 mhz more and of course at a higher voltage, and i am still running over 8 degrees cooler under load than i was with my old AMD stock heatsync...

hope that helps....

Yeah up until recently AMD was shipping taisols with it's retail procs.

They were shipping the CGK742, the 760 is obviously a better sink, so you should be getting better temps, check that the sink is seated correctly, and make sure you did not apply too much AS

Clean clean clean that copper sink and core, and dont touch them, a fingerprint or some dust can really ruin the heat conductivity of the sink. I know the clip is scary to apply, but it is perfectly feasible.

ya... i had to push very very hard to get it to clip in...but the taisol three spot clip is very nice for even weight distrobution...

U said "STOCK" fan which means how many CFM's? Put a DELTA if u don't mind the noise a little. Make sure u have the HS seated correctly. If u feel u have to make some feet for this 1.2 then go ahead it won't hurt. Case has to be well ventilated as well. I have 8 fans in my box.

The taisol has one of the easiest to use clips i have ever seen. As long as you have the room to manuver a screwdriver around it your fine, but I know in my enlight I had to remove the PS to be able to get the space i needed, but with enough room, it is very easy to apply.

Replace the stock fan with the YS Tech 60mm from the previous HS (its not a taisol...looks more like a Thermaltake - the Volcano II) the temp finally goes down a little.

Added a second YS Tech 60mm on the side. running wcpredit/wcprset to lower the temp to 30C idle. loaded temp is around 45 now.
