Taisol CGK742092 fan

Is this cooler good enough with the delta 21cfm included or should i go with a more powerful ys tech 27 cfm fan??
what do you guys think?

I haven't gotten mine yet, but I have 2 of the older taisol heatsinks, and i'm guessing that the delta 60x10mm 21CFM fan is good enough for it to get quiet operation and good performance. Increasing the fan will likely boost performance, but at the expense of noise. It's a choice up to you.

I tend to be the person who says giving a few degrees of cooling is FINE if it means a significant drop in dB rating. Noise can get quite annoying...yet you don't really notice the chip running 3 degrees cooler. It doesn't make it any faster. I'm from the school of thought that if you need the extra cooling to make an overclock stable then you've overclocked it too far. 🙂

HaVoC...

Silence has been my new goal too. I decided I'm content with a P3 933 that's dead quiet, & a roaring 980 MHz monster doesn't really gain me anything.

Fitzhue,

Chjeck out Nerdsbyte.com, they have a complete range of fans as options to the Taisol CGK742092. They also have a good price at $17.99 for the basic unit with the low profile delta. The big mama 37cfm delta is available for about $7 extra.

I ordered mine today from nerdsbyte and chose the sunon...Those sunon's are pretty quiet compared to the YS tech.

DaddyG,
Thanks for price tip, that cooler is $32. from Taisol + $8. shipping = $40.!
I just ordered one from www.nerdsbyte.com/

I think the original fan will be sufficient, I can always use a different one if cooling issues develop.
One of the features of this hsf I like best is the installation clip, since it locks under all three plastic socket tabs on both sides.
