tai chi.. anyone here practice it ?

I used to watch some show on TV every morning when I was a kid. I was waiting for my mom to get ready for work. The guy on the show was a total fruitcake, but I've heard that, as a martial art practiced in combat, it fvcking rapes the competition. :Q

I do tai chi everyday in morning and at night. I know the 24 and 88 form. It's very good for stress and for your health!

I'm doing the Chen style Tai Chi. I've been going it for about 2 months now and hope to get in the 75 long form and the 2 Cannon fist sets in 2 years.

If everything goes right I'll be going to school in NYC in 2 years and can then take Ba Gua there.

I practice Zheng Manqing taijiquan.

I learned in a class at Southern Oregon University, and practiced it for a while outside of class with friends there. I also practiced it with friends at Oregon State University, and on my own.

It is pretty enjoyable, with practical self-defense applications. Most people don't go further than the slow motion, and unfortunately miss out on the rest of what taijiquan has to offer, like swinging swords and throwing people down and stuff. 😉

the founder of our martial arts club @ uc santa barbara practiced tai chi and wing chun. man he kicked butt when we sparred. the inside fighting w/ the sticky hands and he had a solid horse stance.

our club was very interesting. we were opened to al forms of martial arts each of us teaching one another our styles so we could incorporate and make it our own. we also provided self defence seminars throughout campus, off campus, and non profit organizations. i wish there are more organizations like this, a coop of different styles, not rigid about teaching others.
