This looks really nice. Kinda pricey though - MSRPs' for $300. Should retail a little cheaper. Check out the pics though. The known specs are the main beam has 2 settings 60 lumens on high, 15 on low. Optic based lens system. Has 16 LEDs surrounding the main lens that put out 2 different colors(red and blue) at 2 different intensities, 4 LEDs' each. 15 lumens on high and 5 lumens on low.

Keep the drool to a minimum:
Surefire Kroma 1
Surefire Kroma 2
Surefire Kroma 3 - Blue LEDs' on
Surefire Kroma 4 - close up beauty shot

New Maglite LED info....

the purpose for red and blue is red is for night(red effets your night vision the least) and blue for when ya wanna look cool lol

Yeah I figured that was what the red was for, but the blue has me a little confused.

Heck no!

This is what I am told and he owns the most impressive (ridiculous) collection of devices that emit photons so his words are heeded. 🙂

So you can tactically light up dark areas. Except this one does it a little brighter and makes you spend more money.

Tactical use is defined by having sufficient brightness (60L min) to temporarily blind an opponent in order to provide sufficient time to decide whether or not to execute the use of force.

And how long do the insanely expensive batteries last?

They are only expensive if you buy them in stores. Buy them online from like batterystation.com for $1 a piece.

The blue is good for forensic and crime scene investigators to pick up bodily fluids at night - and to look cool.

Don't get me wrong, its a little expensive for my taste as well. I'd rather have the U2 anyway. Just cool thats' all. I also can't wait to see what else they have for 2006....

I like strategic flashlights, like a 4 cell maglight. There's deterence just in it appearance, you don't even have to turn it on.

In fact you'd be better off not turning it on, 'cause when you do all the Surefire owners will laugh at you.

To some of us, it's worth it. You get what you pay for.

Are you posting from a Pentium 233? Why not? 😛

You might laugh until the sheit hits the fan, when you'll be seriously wanting a good light. Have you ever handled one? If not, maybe you should try one. They also don't have to cost $300 - you can get the Surefire G2 for $31 from lighthound.com right now and enjoy 65 lumens of nice, smooth, bright light.
