Tactical Defense Video from a friend's gym

It looks like some some muay thai drills to me. I guess the part with guy defending the against a knife attack is the tactical part.

Are they aiming towards the MMA crowd or to sign up people for self defenese classes?

I think both. I think they all train some police classes and stuff like that as well.

From their myspace:

The Tactical Defense Academy?s primary mission is to provide its students with the most comprehensive and up to date training available. Personal survival in any and all type of confrontation is our goal.

Students learn a variety of tactics and training which will prepare them for the various life-threatening situations they may encounter.

The techniques utilized in the curriculum are drawn from a variety of martial disciplines including, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, Filipino Martial Arts and Police Defensive tactics training.

The curriculum at the Tactical Defense Academy is based on the principles of leverage, economy of motion, muscle memory and tactical awareness.

These principles ensure that a student will be able to effectively apply the techniques, regardless of physical stature, cardiovascular conditioning or experience level.

They need a better logo, its like, RAWR, im a puma! Because, like, pumas are tactical defensers and stuffs....

You know they're the best, because they have a MySpace page.

Oh, and that knife defense was lacking. Proper way to do it is not to put the guy down still holding it, but instead to force his arm down and the blade into his own thigh.

I wasn't sure about how good of a school they might be but after seeing they have a My Space page, that's all the legitimacy I need. Where can I sign up?

He is right, btw, who stabs like that? Other than in horror movies? Instead of the thigh though follow with thumbs into eye sockets.

EDIT: oh the movies good in technique though, I know that takes lots of time to put together. Now about the content....heh

Thanks. It's called "Ready Steady Go."
Cute choice. A remix ("Korean Style") of that song is used in the club scene in Collateral, and a non-vocal version is used during the car chase in The Bourne Identity.
