if you really cared, you could get a hundred or so packets from taco bell and spend a nice quite saturday evening squirting each packet into a jar 😀

Isn't this the stuff that tastes like tree bark? Or was that from some local taco joint....
 
I don't like the flavor. Too much starch flavor, not enough tomato-chilie peppery goodness. Not super hot either, but fair enough. It's made for general public consumption. At least they can't get sued for long-term pain and suffering over the stuff (though it wouldn't surprise me if someone tried).

For a decent store-bought, give some La Victoria hot Salsa Brava taco sauce a try. You might like it. Mezzetta's is another brand that makes a nice taco sauce, but it might be harder to find.
