What about that publicity stunt Garrot did with the DNA and all that stuff? All for naught.
It was a good game that was buggy, which is a shame. It was pretty revolutionary in a lot of ways but I remember the first day it came out all these WoW players (and I play WoW so I can say this) came on and were like WTF THIS SUX11!111! and then logged off never to return again. Most of the player base was mature, interesting, and enjoyed the sci-fi feel of the game. Now I have a damn DVD box for a game that no logner workswahhhh ><
I wonder if they are gonna end it with a big event or something? This may be the nail in the coffin for the sci-fi mmo genre which sucks, it was so weak to begin with anyway. And if RG cant do it who can?

Shame I thought it was a decent enough game, two main problems I saw was low population and not enough content especially for level 50 players.
The player base was very mature and helpful and I was very glad to get away from the inmature kiddie players of WoW which far as I'm concerned had the worst player base of any MMORPG when it came to their attitude and behaviour, glad I don't miss WoW one bit.

They pretty much released an unfinished game. They didnt even have enough quests to get to 50. From what I recall they were cruising along then decided to redo the game or something, pretty much a time sink that wasted money and forced them to release early.

Most MMORPGs are unfinished at time of launch,to be honest very few I can think of that did not need time to fix bugs/content etc....
Yes they are but not at the same point TR was. In WoW I always had something I could do either make gold or farm etc. TR just flat out had ZERO replay value.
Too bad - it was a nice change from the typical fantasy based MMO's that saturate the market. Let's just hope this doesn't determine how well or bad KOTOR MMO does...

Good thing Gariott made all his money off other games, and hope he had fun in space spending alot of it.

Blizzard could make World of Starcraft, and it'd sell millions.

In liked TR at the beginning it was pretty fun and I'm semi sad to see it go.
always thought I'd return to it one day if they ever added more classes content and things to do.
Oh well. RIP TR you tried to be a different style MMO and was fun.

Garriott made a shitload of money when he merged(sold) his new company to NCSoft.
Any wonder why Garriott left the video game industry last week? His pet project was about to be shut down.
