Tablets for graphics

Does anyone out there use a tablet for graphics like Photoshop, Maya, SoftImage XSI, etc? If so, can you give me your opinions or suggestions? I'm looking at maybe buying a Wacom tablet. Are they useful for anything else besides CG software?

I am using Wacom Graphic2 tablet with PhotoShop 6 and it is great....Any other Wacom tablets will do fine with PhotoShop.
