Tablet conundrum

My father recently bought himself a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10 from Costco and likes it so much that he decided to get me one for an anniversary/birthday present for $280. I have a copy of the receipt and it's brand new, in the box (along with a sleeve/case).

I'm skeptical about hardware with inferior specs even if the way it's put together and interacts with the software is good. Should I consider returning the Galaxy Tab 10 for a refurbished Galaxy Note 10 for $300? It seems like a no-brainer as long as you don't mind risking having a problem with a refurbished item.

I have a note 8 and it's awesome and the 10 was awsome instore. I'd say if you have the money go to jelly bean.

I bought the refurb Note 10.1 for $299 at Walmart. So far, so good. If I didn't know any better, I would think that the tablet were new (aside from the refurb box it comes in).

That's because it is pretty much new. They usually replace everything inside the tablet. The downside is a shorter warranty
