HI
Just being curious. There are different brands of tablets out there with the gps feature.
How well do they work? Are they as accurate as a regular gps?
Also,, there are several different gps apps out there. I see Google has a gps app. How well does that work and is there any ones that could be better?

What got me started here is I bought 2 Samsung tabs for my grandkids and saw they have the gps feature and I am thinking of buying a gps unit. If I could use a tablet that would save some money by not buying 2 units. (gps and tablet)
Thanks

I have copilot live premium on my iphone which provides *offline* maps. Yes, they take up a good bit of space (you can download the entire US which uses ~2.1GB or just regions if you want to save space), but it allows you to navigate when you are in an area without cellular service.

They also have an app for android:

One pretty nifty feature is that you can "navigate to photo" if the photo was gps coordinates attached.

I know of at least one tablet that works better than some GPS units.
No cellular or data plan needed on this one. maps are all built in, and upgradable.
Check out the truckers tablet, or better yet Google it.
Or search for videos of the truckers tablet with gps on youtube.

here is one video comparing it side buy side with a top of the line GPS:
