Tables + Microsoft Word = PURE HELL

Jesus christ! Tables in word are by far the most sporatic 'feature' I have ever had the displeasure of using. Moving them is a bitch and a half.

The dotted outline does NOT properly reflect the actual location of where the table will actually end up. Often times moving a table at the very bottom of the page the smallest amount will make it shoot up to the top in the middle of another table, totally destroying any formatting that was done.

They are impossible to line up easily, as you have to move them by predetermined increments so that once they don't line up, they never will.

Adding a table to the bottom of the page creates a new page with nothing on it and no possible way of deleting it.

What the hell Microsoft....what the hell

Yeah, same way in Frontpage. You get a feel for them after a while though.

For maximum Hell avoidance use "Paste Special -> Picture" so it won't page break, can easily be resized, centered, etc.

Take some time to experiment with different table features...not as bad as it seems once you know what you're doing

I'd rather use Excel to do it then paste it in.

Also, if you're doing web, use Dreamweaver. SO MUCH BETTER than Frontpage for tables. If you have tables in tables (important for padding, spacing, etc) and they're both the same width, dreamweaver makes your life so much easier for selection.

this was just for a simple form that only had 7 tables but it was still a nightmare
