Just got this from the store earlier today thinking it was a new Coke brand. After I tasted it, I was fixing to contact Coke to tell them they needed to recall the lot I got, but discovered two things in the process:

1. This is the way it is is supposed to taste.
2. It's not a new Coke brand, so they've either started rolling it out to more markets in order to snag unsuspecting victims, or one of the small grocery chains here (Schnuck's) just started carrying it. I've lived in NE Texas, SE South Dakota, and central Illinois and never seen this carried in any store until today.

It's great tasting. I'm a sucker for sugar-free drinks and it's great. Unfortunately over here it's marketed heavily to women and comes in a bright pink can (don't know if this is the same overseas) so all of my friends call me a homosexual when I drink it.

Also it's really hard to find here. A couple of years ago they did a big marketing push when it was introduced here and then it kind of fell into obscurity.

Agh... I've got a slight color blindness, I thought this was just light red. Guess it's pink in the U.S. too

I think it tastes terrible. It used to be made with saccharin. I don't know if it still is, but I'd rather have no sweetener than saccharin sweetener.

Tab was big in the 70s. I think they're just trying to reintroduce it. And I voted "Bad" because the stuff is terrible.

I remember this in the 70s. Very bad after taste. Matter of fact there is simply no substitute for C12H22O11. Never will be. People try to trick me all the time with this stuff and if it has a fake sweetener in it I can pick it out instantly. Of course pop isn't my thing anyhow...

It's the same in the states. It was marketed towards women and we all think you're a homosexual...

:awe:

The Futurama episode "Amazon Women in the Mood" take a stab at Tab early in the episode.

One of the jokes in Back to the Future was based on Tab. When Marty goes into the Diner in the 50's and asks for a Tab and the guy says "you haven't ordered anything yet..."

When i worked at a service station as a teenager, the owner stocked tab. The only reason he stocked tab was for his wife and a couple of her friends. I often wondered why he didn't just take the cases home but i suppose he didn't want the in the refrigerator at home.

It was a horrible tasting drink. When myself and some other workers were bored with no work, we would get crazy and do some stupid stunts/games/dares. Often losers had to drink a can of tab.

And yes, the can is pink. I think the design has been the same over the years.

I'm 22 and have known it's served as a cheap Coke knock-off for ages.

And I also not to ever buy it, or any other knock-off brand - like RC Cola. Eck.

It's not a Coke knock-off, it's a diet soda made by Coke, and has been around much longer than Diet Coke itself.
