TA Personal Proxy Status Page

I've been bashing on this script all afternoon/evening and it's finally taken shape. 🙂 This will give a status report (sort of basic info at this time) of the pproxies currently operating the TA RR DNS tree.

http://www.iodbbs.com/tappstatus.html

I still have a flaw with the table alignment and some tweaking of the colors to do. This status page will probably end up on teamanandtech.com sometime soon and will be tied in with the automation of round-robin DNS updates. This way a pproxy can be removed temporarily when it goes offline.

Note: I'm not going to fully enable this script until all of the pproxy operators know about it.

Any opinions, comments, suggestions, praise? 😉

Brad..

First of all, Heaps of praise!
Second a question: I didn't know that Mika was in the round robin. Is he? I thought that the idea was the round robin would insulate his proxy. If this is true, I would put his first in a separate table.

Joe O, the RR was originally designed to do that, but enough people went against the idea that it was changed to complement it. It achives similar results though, so it's no big loss.🙂

bphantom,

What a cool script. I like it 🙂

Is it easy to add another pProxy to the round robin list? I have one running at the moment which could help to lighten the load if need be.

Oh, and Mandril's email address is just an "@" sign.

Joe O, now that you mention it, I agree Mika should be removed from the RR and I will probably do it later (after all right now you have a one in six chance of landing on Mika's PProxy with the RR). Now before anyone jumps me, YOU can use mika.dhs.org ALL you want. 🙂

Viztech, those were my words when I got it to generate the first test line. 🙂

Dougal, honestly.... At this time we have nine TA baby bovines and it's consuming all 20 entries on CI's DNS server. Until a permanent DNS server is setup on Mika's, I'm going to hold off adding anymore pproxy operators. Nothing personal, but I'm just unable to add anyone else. 🙁

Mandrill, sorry about that. The forum was still disfunctional when I was adding that part to the script and I was unable to lookup your email. It has been added to the operator list!

Jator, if your a more advanced newbie then I am to perl, then you probably could do something beter. 😀 I'm sure the script could be better optimized, but I'm just glad I figured it *all* out on my own! WoooMooo! 🙂

JHutch, the buffer in/out status is real time RC5 buffer information grabbed directly from my pproxy status (OGR will be added later). It is current as of the time the script is run. I already have some example script on how to make remote submissions possible, that way all of the pproxies could report in. 😀

I'm glad you guys like it though! I still have some more stuff I'm going to program into it. Mainly the RR DNS redundancy checking, but other neato stuff as well. Enjoy! 🙂

Brad..

bPhantom,

I am far less knowledgable than you when it comes to perl. I'm also concentrating on finishing my MCSE before October, so and side projects for me will be very limited for the next few months.

Again, thanks for adding such a cool new option to the team. THis is by far the best team around!!!

Jay

Jay.... Just wait until you see what I have operational on my test page. If my original page didn't make your jaw drop, this has a good chance of doing it. 😉

Brad..

Forgive me my ignorance but do all the proxies have independent stats, or can i flush to any RR-proxy and still get the blocks counted on mika's stats..?

Postman,

Any block submitted to a rr is then dumped to Mika's. Thus you will get a total count from Mika. Some of the rr have stats to show what comes through their pproxy.

Jay

I will probably adding stats functions to my PP in the next few weeks. I am going to be migrating the proxy over to Linux when the mobo and cpu arrive for my linux box in the next few days. So after I get that all figured out, I'll see about making stats available as well.

The new revision is online at: http://www.iodbbs.com/tappstatus.html.

I added a few new fields of information. 😉

For you TA RR pproxy operators... You notice those blank fields next to your pproxy?? Well I have a little perl script which can automatically fill them with information from your pproxy! 😀

Brad..

Mandrill, the perl script will work in Windows. All you have to do is download Perl for Win32. There are other ways to insert your pproxy data into the proxy status page, including a remote manual way. 🙂 Email me for details.

Jay, I just changed the settings and it now lists you as port 23. 🙂
