TA and AnandTech Gamining server UPDATED 5/7

Once I install DX8.1 on my server, I'll have a Windows BF1942 server up and running, and will be playing with that 🙂 So that's me covered for CS, UT2003 and BF1942 servers, so I should be able to sort those out if needed 🙂

so how much bandwidth do you have available?
And if BF1942 is involved i'll be there... if I had something better than a 14/16 connection 🙁
I could go on for pages about how much I hate dial-up but I wont.
 
I have at my disposal about 12mbit /sec at any givin time, but the Datacenter has 2 OC3's comming into it.

Well, I'll say that my testing of the BF1942 server I set up went pretty well! 🙂 31 Bots on an XP1800+, and it runs pretty smoothly! 🙂 And with no bots in...well it's kinda boring with just me running round a map 😉

Also the CS servers are going well too, the plugins/admin setups are working well! 🙂

Sorry, it's only an internal server for now, until my LAN party when I'll open it up to a few people, but it's mainly for learning on, and not for others, as I only have 128kbps upload, and if that gets used my standard web browsing becomes worse than on a 14.4k modem 🙁 Lots of dropped pages, slow transfers etc 🙁

It could be yours for $300 + shipping/handling. It's in a 4U case I bought off Networkman back in 2000 @ the Midwest TA LAN party. I'm warning you, it's a might bit heavy! Let me know if you're intersted.

I have some small SDRAM and a few 10/100 PCI NIC if they can be used anywhere.

I know it must have been mentioned somewhere, but what kind of connection (speed/location) will the game server hooked up to?

I'll see if I can scrounge up the cash but I dought it unless more people are willing to throw in cash, (only one so far) I am working on a parts list now and should be done by days end.
 
It was so nice of you to put me in such great light Narzy. I tell you, a lot of people were quite offended and asked what I would do. I told them I wasn't interested in explaining our long history and how you got your admin access removed.

I'm not here to bad mouth, I'm not here to say any more about what has happened. I will say that I wish you luck, and that I hope it works.

I'm sorry you feel offended by my post, as that was not the intent. I don't belive I painted you in any negitive light other then explaining my understanding of the situation, if you wanted me to paint you as a god, then I'm sorry to dissapoint, as thats not the way I feel. I said nothing negitive of TGB.N or you in my post other then my feelings on how thegamebox.org was effective for our team. If you want to get in to my failings as an admin on TGB.N thats your perogitive, my response would be my success at comming in, laying the foundation to the rules and practices you have in place today. I don't think the highest of you as I have in the past, but I definatly do not think negitivly of you or your game box and painted no sour image of you that I can see an my posts. You have a history of misreading things and I think that again in this case that is what has happened.
