Hello my T41p arrived yesterday. I would like to post a review. Can the forum members please suggest a few benchmarks?

Fit and finish,

This model has a 1.7 GHZ centrino with the ATI Fire 128 mb graphics card and the Hitachi 7200 RPM hard drive. I am using XP Pro and have 1 GB pc2700 ram in the notebook. The memory is from IBM.

I ordered the notebook online and "added" the hi-capacity battery. This was a $149 addition. This was the only battery to come with the notebook, I would have thought the normal battery would be included as well.

The HC battery is a bit wobbly but this issue has been discussed in several forums for the T40.

This is my second T41, I RMAed my first back to IBM within my first 30days to get the T41p

Both machines have had no dead pixels. The initialization scheme for the t41p has changed, on my old T41 the registration would only use a modem, this version offers both LAN or Modem. I will post more as I get into using the machine.

I paid $3410 for it.

This was with a University Discount. I started to configure it today and noticed that many of the icons were "Not Responding" when clicking on them. Called IBM Tech Support who said to restore it once with the Preload on the hard drive. Hopefully it will not have this problem after the restore. Its never simple is it?

nice price! thats cheap for a computer with that many goodies inside.
anyway, if all else fails, just reformat it.

That is a good price for the specs. Are you going to uninstall the firegl drivers and try to run catalyst drivers on it for games?

That price is probably what I'll end up paying after I get my voodoo M:355 upgraded to the 10hr battery and 9600 128mb video card.

so far though the M;355 has worked flawlessly. :)

the video card upgrade is scheduled to be available early next year... and right now so far by the things they have mentioned it will be a 128mb radeon 9600 mobility.

Then again who knows exactly what it will be but a video card upgrade has been promised for early next year. Good thing too because I can't afford it till next year :)
