If I remove the hidden Partition on my T40p, what utilities will I lose? I know I will lose the image for the machine. Is there anything else I will lose?
Oh ya I have the restore cd's from IBM. Thanks
 
that is the only thing u will lose, the image of the system. No other utilities.

WHere did u bought urs from and how much?

If you remove the hidden partition and delete it, you will lose the predesktop area. In stead of getting into the predesktop area when hit the "Access IBM" button, you will get a choice to get into BIOS. No big deal IMO but you might want the diagnosis tools.

Good point..... Thats what I noticed when I disabled the predesktop, those utilities where gone. I kinda like them there. I guess I'll leave the hidden partition. Thanks folks
 
I think it's nice to have since you can even copy other images there and keep something current for disaster recovery.
