What ever happened to honor...whet ever became of the meaning of being a Man of My Word? So I guess in todays world when you sign a mutually agreed upon contract it means nothing? T.O. stinks as a human being ..I care not about how good he is on the field..and ..no..he did not carry the Eagles to the playoffs last year like he would like to think he did. I think Eagles fans should boycot "ALL" eagles games until they dump that loser!!

i think the eagles should trade him, and use the money they save to sign weskbrook, simon, and some younger talent.

That'd be awesome. TO is a POS.

And to think this punk almost got to wear a Ravens uniform ... too bad he didn't end up a crackhead junkie like everyone thought he would.

Uh, he's talking about Terrell Owens, aka T.O.

If you'd read his first post you'd either A) Realize that, or B) Have no idea who Terrell Owens is anyways

or C) just trying to be humorous.

Philly fans should've seen this coming. He just can't help being a disruptive force.

I would love to see him traded to a crappy team like Arizona, but he would probably whine about it like he did about being traded to Baltimore. He got his way last time. Why would he think that he couldn't again?

since nfl contracts aren't guaranteed i think he should go after as much money as he can get. with his current contract the eagles could merely dump him 'to save cap room' and then what? he isn't making the money in that contract. since the eagles could dump him at any time and get rid of their obligations, it's only logical that he should be able to do the same.

while i agree that he should get what he is due... he is the one who missed doing it at the right time. he (or his agent) is the one who missed filing the paper to make him a FA. he is the one who signed his 7-year $42 mil deal last year. this is not including a $10 signing bonus... which in the NFL is ridiculously high becuz of the non-guaranteed contracts. btw, i got my numbers from here

Exactly. Teams will cut you in the middle of a contract to save a buck. Players should ask for more money if they think they can get it.

If their contract says they can renegotiate, then I agree. If it doesn't, then be a man and live up to the terms that you agreed too.
I am sure the team has an out clause in the contract.

I'm hating T.O. because not only is he demanding a contract restructure to get more money, he's also bad mouthing McNabb at the same time.

werd up. without mcnabb to haul him the ball... i wanna see how many td's he's really catch. the truth is... to be productive... TO needs philly just as much as philly needs TO. like red said... trade him to the cards and lets see his numbers then.

if they can cut you at any time then it isn't really a contract, it's a standard at-will employment agreement. as such, he can demand more payment at any time, and the eagles can cut him at any time. just like you and your employer (most likely). baseball, on the other hand, is a real contract.

after the ricky williams case it is clear that those signing bonuses are only there to keep the players from running. if they do run they lose the bonus. the eagles have the right to demand it back.

and as for his agent 'missing' the FA deadline, his agent was in the right. the NFL was in the wrong.

lets put this another way. you go and sign up for a $50,000 a year job. then you and your employer find out that your skills are suddenly worth $100,000, and you're not easily replaced (in fact, you're almost irreplaceable). do you just sit with your $50,000 because that is what you agreed to before the new information? no. you wouldn't. why is this any different?
