People need to stop hating on T-Mobile.

We need them and Legere crazy act not necessarily for their actual services (although those do work for some people, too), but more for the pressure they put on AT&T and Verizon to provide us better services with better prices.

Ever since Legere took over~ T-mobile has made strides in service//pricing and getting everyone else more competitive.

Which is awesome. However they only have 2g coverage where I live which is not awesome.

Yeah everyone need to thank Tmobile.
Before the uncarrier movement, ATT and Verizon didn't have no-contract plans.

I finally quit T Mobile because of their terrible coverage, after being with them for many years.
Don't like the fact that I'm paying more with Verizon, but at least when I need it, I can rely on the cellphone or smartphone. Otherwise why even have one...

Is this truly free wifi calling, i.e. I can use my nexus4? Or is this just a way to say "Hey remember you can use our phones that have free wifi calling that are tmobile branded...this isn't anything new but just a reannouncement of what we already do"

nexus phones never had the ability to make wifi calls on t-mobile.

If it was a Tmobile Nexus 4 or 5, it did have wifi calling.
If you bought it from the Google store, then it didn't.

No it didn't. All nexus besides the galaxy nexus on verizon came stock same as from google. Non Carrier crap or software.

I think the early strides with T-Mobile Uncarrier were cool, but I feel like now he's just striving for attention. This is nice but then is it a killer deal? All other carriers are giving you unlimited voice and text already.

And its not like T-Mobile offers that good of a deal for BYOD. Its still a bit confusing for consumers in the end. Subsidized phones are still the majority of sales anyway. In the end the biggest change was getting AT&T & Verizon users better pricing, although I'll argue that grandfathered single users on the old plans still had a better deal than Next, etc. Family plans probably won with the new 10GB plans.

Nearly free rental of an Asus AC router seems pretty awesome to me, regardless of the other WiFi announcements.

I really do not know anything but just asking about the free router. Could t mobile specifically be pushing routers in peoples homes so that they can use your internet lines for other t mobile customers via a t mobile guest mode? For example in theory if I have t mobile and my neighbor has t mobile he gets the Rogers and now I have better signal and speeds since I am connect to his WiFi instead of the dead zone or so speed you sometimes get.
