T-Mobile quietly released Android 6.0.1 update for the Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone after almost 6 months since it came out for the Nexus.

It's about time. I still have about a year to pay off my S5 (which I love-great device), so it'll be nice to have Marshmallow on it. Installing now...

let us know how it is. Would be interesting to see how the battery life improves.

So far, so good. Can't say I care for the cosmetics, but aside from that, the phone is a bit peppier (it was beginning to lag, after a year's use). Haven't had time to poke around settings to see what (if anything) is new, but the upgrade went butter smooth and I'm glad I have the Marshmallow to use until I get my next phone (GS15? Implant?).

Is this something that is advisable after doing a full version upgrade? Just wonderin'

SW always unpredictable, often people have issues that only seem to get fixed with a full factory reset and cache wipe.

Of course, then you get people like me whose tmo s5 seems to lag-hard no matter what....

Wow. This update totally made my phone like new again. No reformatting necessary so far. Very impressed.
I got the Rom from sammobile and flashed from odin.

seems to be the same as the previous official build for me, which means it lasts a little longer than a day.

only problem thus far is the Samsung Voice Recorder wont update anymore. no way to remove/disable it.

error message is "Samsung Voice Recorder can't be installed. Try again, and if the problem continues, get help troubleshooting. Error Code: -505"
