Good news. Is this a real OTA FM radio or does it eat through data?

Did the update, is there a Samsung FM radio app or do I need to download one from the Play Store?

We'll Yay you. Why not have fm radio? We have dome decent stations in nyc. You waste energy pondering why people would want it. You must be of the apple variety "if Steve and Johnny says we don't need it nobody wants it".

Why don't the manufactures lock them on? I am not understanding why carriers should be able to deactivate hardware that the oems place on the main boards.

Not sure why this feature was disabled on pretty much every north american version of the galaxy. I had it on my international Galaxy S2 back in the day.

I think its most likely because the US carriers gouge you on data, therefore forcing you to use a streaming service and charge $$$ for data. TMO has binge and renders streaming moot as its free either way, so why not enable FM?

I dont think its anything to do with your carriers. I dont have it on my international S7 edge that I got direct from Samsung.
