I want to purchase a T-Mobile SDA, from their website. It says $100 Instant Discount, and $50 mail rebate.

Do i have to sign up for a new plan to get the discounts, or can i get them anyways just by switching phones? I allready have a 2 year family plan with T-Mobile.

Tnx.

Unless youre eligible for a phone upgrade, you will pay full price , since you already have a plan.

Tmobile allows you to qualify for new phone w/ deals every 11 months...at least that's what they told me a few weeks ago.

Previous posts are spot on. I even got suckered into another year long contract for just changing my minutes/month.

BTW, Godfather, stay away from the SDA. It has this horrible "feature" where it is always on if you carry it around. Ie, there is no way to lockout the keypad to prevent the screen from turning on. Tmobile is aware of the problem and has no intention of fixing it.

My SDA works fine... To save the battery the screen cuts off, pushing a button turns it back on. I have mine on a belt clip with the buttons facing out and have had no problems.

Is there a pager on the belt clip right next to your SDA which is right next to your ipod? To the OP, if youre the kind of guy that wears electronic gadgets ON YOUR BELT go for the SDA. If however, you prefer to put it in your pocket, backpack, etc stay away.

I read on the T-Mobile FAQ, and it does say i qualify every 11 months for a new phone.

Umm, about the SDA, i dont put phones on my belt, but its such a damn good phone though :( I really want a smartphone at the price of the SDA. I saw that new Samsung Trace, it has allmost the same features.

Idk.

Whoa... hang on now, no need for that. I don't like to carry phones in my pocket, it's out of the way on my belt and if I get a page (pager forwards to my phone) I can just look down and see who it is.

I'm an assistant director of IT at a large hospital and need things easliy accessible.

i have the SDA and i am by no means a professional, look at previous posts of mine for confirmation, and i love my SDA, just press the red button for 2 seconds and it locks out, and you can change the screen black out time to be what you want

I have the SDA as well and I cary it in my pocket, no problems here. You just lock the keypad and you have no worries. The light might be turning on in my pocket, but who cares? I can still get almost two days out of my battery and I talk on the phone about an hour a day.

Get the SDA, it is nice

Blazer pocket :)
That's where my wallet goes when I'm wearing a jacket though.

Front right posket: Keys
Front left pocket: Business card holder and Debit card.
Blazer pocket (or right rear if not wearing a jacket): Wallet (CC's and identification)
Belt: Blackberry

I'm basically maxed out.

Pocket? I had a belt clip thing for 3 days and I kept hitting my arm on it while I was walking or doing other things. Annoying.

I'm a tmo guru, and I prefer to get my phones on ebay - much cheaper. I picked up my SDA for $100 shipped.

All my blazers have inside pockets on both sides. Left for wallet, right for cell :)
