When I called T-Mobile, I spoke to a guy that sounded like he knew what he was talking about (I was surprised). I told him that that a friend of mine got in on this deal and I would like to change my plan as well. He said to me.....your friend must live in California or Cinci. He went on and explained that T-Mobile is running a promo out there to test out this new plan. They usually run the promo for about a month and then make a decision whether or not to change the plans nationwide.

So, call back in a month or so....or at least keep your eye on this deal in about a month or two. He also told me that this is only valid in CA or Cinci.

I was just thinking... for you guys that are not in California... can't you just call a store in Cali and have them set an account up for you but using your own area code?

I just called ( from Iowa) the lady said.. we will start this, but not yet.. say in a month or SO,,, I love Tmobile, im always on roaming but with my nationwide plan , i need not worry 😀
so call back in a month

Nationwide (no roaming or long distance charges)

What exactly does this mean? Does this mean you can go out of your calling area and still be free? Or does this mean if you are with in your calling area and you hit a dead spot and it switches over to AT&T tower you won't have to pay to use thier tower? I'ts kind of confusing for me... Did all the cell phone companies just agree to use each others towers?

Thanks....

WOW I WAS PAYING $60 FOR THIS! I had to sign up for a year contract again which is fine since i've been with them for only 2 months, and it starts on my next billing cycle which is next month.

You mean you updated your plan? Can I do that? I've been with them for less than a month now.

Oh wait, on second thought, this must not apply to family plans. I'm on the famly plan🙁. 800 Anytime No Roam/Distance, Free Weekends, but no nights.

Nice promo, might be time to get a 2nd cell phone, I like all of those minutes, with free N/W. Good deal... My Verizon works everywhere but it is a little pricey to get more minutes a 2nd phone might be nice for business and to not use my home phone for long distance since Cingular just built a tower an 1/8 of a mile from my house and the onlyl place Verizon does not work well is at my house.

Amazon has some great deal on T-Mob with the free 3650, Sidekick $169.99, Free 6610. Check out there deals they are hard to beat. A1wireless a online T-Mob dealer has the S105 great phone @ $75 and the T300 for $100 in your pocket.

They have the deal in mass, just to let you guys know. Go to the cell phone shop in boston that is on, i think, tremont st. It is near CVS, Marshells, and 3 citizens banks.

no go in minnesota. the guy was really nice & cooperative, but he couldn't find this plan anywhere (not even for LA!). so i dont know... heh

Ecrip- if you're on the nationwide plan, it doesnt matter where you are as long as you are within the continental US ( no ALaska coverage) YOU CAN STILL BE FREE.. no roaming charge.. i'm ia T MObile customer in Iowa and tmobile doesnt have service here, I'm always on " Iowa Wireless's " network but its still free of roaming charge for free. so yes you are correct, you wont be paying ATT for using their tower. Cell phone companies agree to use towers. Hope this " clears the fog of confusion"
🙂

P.S >>>for those who want to see the details go to T Mobile's website and choose California > Los Angeles area, you'll see what all the fuss is about

I'm in San Diego... you gotta go to LA and do it, but have an SD number assigned to you.

I can confirm that this IS available in Portland, OR

Confirmed again, my sister has the $39.99/mo 1000 minutes plan works great if you use your cell phone a lot.

My wife and I have the $69.99 800 minute family time plan with FREE UNLIMITED cell to cell.

The phone companies are really scrambling now. Cell-number portability (which will let you keep your # when you switch carriers) goes into effect in November, if you live in one of the 100 largest metro areas. There are going to be tons of crazy deals to try to keep existing customers, and lure new ones.

what counts as LA/OC? I'll be in Upland/Ontario this weekend which is, ummm what San Bernardino/Riverside counties?

Has anyone confirmed if this can be combined with the amzon and other offers for a better phone? If so,
I'll order the phone tonight 🙂
