Alas, it is true -- MBM5 will no longer be supported. Here is the quote directly from
the Motherboard Monitor website:
"Juli 6th 2004, about 7.5 years later the MBM development comes to a stop
Yes you read it right, after thinking about it for several weeks I have decided to stop development on MBM. Over the years many (if not all) clones appeared that tried to do what MBM did. Some succeeded others did not. Some I feel where technically and user wise better then MBM but with an average of 6000 hits a day and coverage on almost every PC magazine in the world it still seems to be the most popular monitoring tool around. And it is better to stop at your peak."
I, for one, was very sad to read this, as Motherboard Monitor has shown itself to be an excellent tool. One reason the author/programmer sited for quitting (besides going out at the top) was a failure by motherboard manufacturers to be forthcoming with the information he required to keep MBM5 current.
Fortunately, he is, at least for the time being, keeping the site available for downloads. If you are at all interested in using the MBM5 product (which is free), I suggest you download it before it disappears and, as well, send a nice "thank you" note to Alex, MBM5's creator. Who knows? Perhaps if enough people thank him for his efforts, he will reassess his decision.
I consider MBM5 to be one of the top products on the web and am grateful to Alex for having provided this service to PC users.
