Anyone got one of these babies in RETAIL, or is it primarily OEM to spot one?

how do you spot a retail t-bred A from a palamino if it's in a box??? 🙁

The new retail packaging for Athlons and Durons is in a clear blister pack. The Tbred 1700+ is all over the place right now. You can spot a Tbred by the BLANK core (die), and the black label with the chip info is located on the side of the organic packaging.

good pic of a Tbred

T-Bred A AND has the little chips from underneath on top now?
and BOTH have the sticker on the bottom instead of information on the core?

What about the RETAIL PACKING - I don't think you can see through it easily? 🙁

I have sold hundreds of the new retail CLEAR packaged cpu's and it's very easy to read the markings on the core (Durons and Pally XP's) and organic package (Tbred). I linked you to a pic for confirmation. You can also find an article on overclockers.com that explains the different markings and what revisions there are.

I found it not so easy to see through the packaging - maybe we are speakign about different cpu's
the ones I saw could actually hang on a shelf - with a little hook in the top - and are a prick to open

Here's the ones - hard to see through the back (I found anyhow)

Still I'll have a look around - thanks for the information 🙂

Yes, that is the retail packaging I am referring to. I find it relatively easy to read the cpu information thru the backside.
