T-Bird temperature range question.

I have a 900Mhz T-Bird which is currently at 95°F with winamp playing and a few internet windows open as I type. The case temp is at 93°F. I have all the panels of the case on right now. When I play really detailed games I have seen the CPU get up to 114°F. IS that considered high? I dont know the specs for my chip. When it gets that hot, my computer locks up, but that may be caused by the video card, Visiontek GeForce2 MX.

Anyone know if these temps are within rance? I jusr installed a Super OPB heatsink with 2 fans and it didnt seem to help at all. Could it be because of the greese or the way I applied it? I put it on thin (i think), could it be too thick and make it stay hot?

Thanks for any input to my cooling problems.

What MB do you have?

Your case temp(34C ) is a bit warm...

Socket-thermistors are highly-suspect normally, but even more so when reading orb temps.

Sorry Guys, here is what I have:

T-Bird 900@900 on KT7
IBM 30gig 7200rpm
Visiontek Geforce 2 32MB
mwave 128MB PC133
Windows ME
SB x-gamer
56k modem
Acer 50x CD-ROM
300W Power supply

Does that answer any questions?

Thanks

Hi, I'm also having a problem with the temp. I recently installed the Alpha 6035 but my temp is (at this point) 42c! And I barely did anything but loaded up Windows. Could it be that I did something wrong with the installation? My system is real similar to yours Renob. Same motherboard, CPU, and cooler. I'm having this temp considering I haven't overclocked yet! And Renob, I see that you got your 750 (which I also have) past a gig!! I can't even get it at a good temp at default speed! Please help, and let me know what I could've done wrong. Thanks

My 900MHz Tbird runs @ ~50ºC With generic Heatsink and Fan... I'm upgrading to a Fop-38 soon... 7000RPM woooooooo. I'm expecting a huge difference.

That shouldn't hurt anything though? I have my 1000mhz tb @ 1150 and my cpu is at 39C w/out running anything. If I run winamp and a few things it gets to about 40C, I don't consider this high though? I have a fop32-1 running on it. I wonder how hot it gets when I play games..I haven't recieved my geforce 2 gts yet so I can't say. How much hotter does your cpu get when playing games as opposed to browsing and running winamp?

Right now my temp is 95F (35c) with a few windows and winamp playing. When I play games such as Nascar heat or Dues EX I have seen it get to 118°F (48c). Is this normal to get this hit? I did notice that my video card (visiontek geforce2 MX) gets really hot, I can only hold my finger on it for a second. I think I am going to sell it and get a Anahilator PRO 32DDR anyways which has a fan on it. I just installed my super ORB and was hoping for some better performance from it. It cools just like the factory fan that cam with the T-bird. I wonder if it could be because of too much thermal greese?
