T-Bird 1.4-Whats a good CPU Fan

I got a 1.4 T-Bird and I'm an overclocker newbie. What CPU fan should I get? Do I need thermal paste? Oh ya how do u unlock the board so u can change the clock multipulators. I heard its something with a pencil

Just CPU Fan. I got a case fan. I also have an Asus A7M, Any guide otu there to overclocking it?

Well i got a Gladiator but some other good ones are taisols globalwins and the sk6

The ThermalRight SK6 is great as well as the GlobalWin CAK38 and Vantec has a good one, I think it is the CCK6035. The Taisols have nice retention mechanism that distribute the pressure well just make sure you get the one with the copper base.

I like my Swiftech, its VERY quiet and safer for mounting, though its a bigger hassle to mount/unmount.

anything over a 1.2 should come unlocked so you can put the pencil away. Read through your manual to see if you need to adjust jumpers, dipswitches, or if you can change the multiplier/fsb in the bios. I'll look into some reviews to see what kind of options you have with that board.

Asus A7M or the Asus A7V. I can't find anything about the A7M. Anandtech's search tool sucks.

the best is the swiftech mc-462 (in my opinion of course)...but it's rather expensive for a HSF...the runner up would be the sk-6.
