I am typing this on my new Quake box....LOL, Compuwiz T-Bird 1.0 @ 1507 (137X11) at 1.8 V. I have a couple of question's on this MSI K7T Turbo-R :

1. Do I need to install the VIA driver's on the CD that came with the mobo or r there any better one's or just leave it alone ??

2.and what is the fix for the 30 second delay on bootup ??? Win ME OS

This is my first AMD system and I think it was easier to build than my last 2 Intel, time will tell :)
And a special shout out to COMPUWIZ, he is the man , period.

And any helpfull suggestion's would be appreciated :)

For Windows 98, yes you do have to install the via drivers. All four of them and enable DMA. Don't know for windows 2000 or ME.

You might check and see if the latest ones are on your CD, otherwise download the newest ones from VIA.

No clue on the 30 sec bootup.........

Hey Sharpstick,
I just asked you about your new system over in compuwuz's thread(hope he didn't mine a little tech discussion in his sales thread I also purchased an axia pretested at 1.5 from him but can't get my system to boot up into win 98se at 133 fsb (set via mb jumper). I can up the fsb to 132 with the cpu at 100, but the minute I change the jumper to 133 on my Iwill, the system will boot up but I get a BSOD midway through loading windows. I noticed that you are using 137 x 11 to get your 1500 overclock. How did you get the cpu multple at 11 cause my cpu is locked and that supposedly means you can only use a cpu multiplier of 10 (10 x fsb 100). Did you unlock your chip? I was also amazed how low your temps you are with the blizzard. I have the blizzard tbird and my temps are 10-12 degrees warmer than yours. What thermal grease did you use? How are you monitoring the cpu temps, in bios? Also, what ram are you using. Wonder if switching to winMe would make a difference, but I don't really thing that should matter.

Thanks

Hi Sharpstick
Thanks for your reply in the other thread. I really think my problem is related to heat since I am running a higher temp than you at idle. I tried to change the cpu multiplier to 11 with a fsb of 130, but on boot up it is only recognized at the default multiplier of 10. Are you sure you are running the cpu at 11? I didn't think Compuwiz1 unlocked any of his overclocked axia's that would reach 1.5 Ghz. Are you running your ram at CAS 2, 4 way interleaved or just CAS 2? I have two 128meg sticks of mosel vitellic and my system will not boot up even at default speed with CAS 2 and 4 way interleave on in bios. Thanks

Bunta,
yes i'm running 11X137, I asked Steve to please unlock it for me , before he shipped it :)i played with it a little last night and found that the 10 and 10.5 multiplier r screwed also, booted at 850 i think........went back to 11, i didn't want to run a bunch out of spec like 10x150, really wanted to keep bus speed as close to 133 as i could. The AS was like paper thin, about as thin as i have ever put it on, was thinking it was toooo thin but it run's fine and no lockup's so i'm staying at 1507 :)I have been racing Nascar 3 online for 2 hour's now without a hiccup !!!!

drop me an e-mail if ya want and we can help each other out :)

what voltage you at ? i am at 1.8

384 meg Infenion at cas 2 here

how do you enable 4-way ??
