Finally after about 5 times I hear his wife go in the background "Detroit, Michigan." After that claim I took off the rest of the night (6 hours or so), and the next two days as well.

LOL , classic!

Not sure if this makes sense, but is there any correlation between the amount of auto insurance you have and the amount you pay over time? I've been told that if you have just the state minimums insurance companies treat you as a larger risk, whereas if you had better coverage you would end up paying less over time.

For example... someone paying $1200/yr initially for full coverage (collision+comprehensive) might see their rates drop somewhat over 5 years, versus someone paying $1500/yr might see their rates drop to $1200/yr or below because of the better coverage.

I'm in health insurance claims right now, and just applied for an underwriting job 30 minutes ago. Give it to me!

I do not know of any truth behind this. I can't say if it is or is not true. My guess is no, but that is something that would be handled by the system automatically so I don't actually see or know if this would happen.

We use a mainframe based system (reflections to be more specific), but then have a whole bunch or proprietary applications for most of it.

Under all of it thought is reflections though.

My agent just left a major company to broker on his own. If I switch do you think I will get less service?

As long as he still is an agent for a company you know (or the same one), you shouldn't have any issues. If for some reason your agents service deteriorates then call your carrier and switch agents.
