I am trying to raise some money to build a sub $1000 system. I know my current system wouldn't even cover half the costs but what would you value the system as a whole and as parts at?

CPU: AMD Socket 754 3400+
MB: MSI K8N Neo Platinum
VIDEO: ATI X800 Pro 256MB
HD: WD 120GB SATA 150
RAM: Kingston 512MB DDR400
MISC: Hauppage PVR350 Tuner

Thanks.

*** Didn't think I can post it in the FS/FT section since I am just asking for prices ***

MOD EDIT: No price checks. If you want to know, just list it on Ebay (and no Ebay links either). - Zap

My current computer is:

CPU: AMD 64 3400+ (Socket 754)
MB: MSI K8N Neo Platinum
RAM: 768MB (3GB max)
VIDEO: ATI X800 Pro 256MB AGP

I can afford a video card and memory upgrade, not a whole new computer.

Is upgrading the memory and possibly video card going to make a difference or is it not even worth it?

What video card would be best of the AGP slot and below $100?

I agree, anything would be better than my current system. Hahaha.

As long as I don't screw myself like I did with the Socket 423 and Socket 754, I will be happy.
Ouch! :Q

Maybe hold on for the upcoming nehelam launch, you'll be screwing yourself buying on the verge of a new generation that's incompatible with everything now!
