system wont remember cpu speed... O_o

I have an Epox 8RDA3 and AMD Athlon XP 2500+ @ default 1833mhz


When i reboot, it often doesnt remember my original cpu speed and memory speed. It sets it back to 1100 MHz (11 x 100). It did it again and this time it wont change back. it did it before and after the bios upgrade. i have no idea why it does this. maybe someone here has experienced this, or know of a solution.

oh, is there a good program that i can change cpu speed in windows?

Have you check that your jumper settings are set to the correct FSB?

usually when it does this it means that ur overclock failed and since u have done it more than once it is probably extremely messed up

ive never overclocked with this system.. =(

Make sure the JCMOS jumper is on pins 1-2 (next to the battery, on the left two pins) and the JCLK jumper is on pins 2-3 (below and to the left of the socket, on the bottom two pins). If they're in the right place, you may have to adjust the battery contacts or even replace the battery. There are a bunch of programs that let you change the FSB in windows. Try Speedfan, SoftFSB, CPUFSB, or googling for one. . .
