System won't POST and gives strange beep code

My roommate's system suddenly died for no apparent reason. The motherboard is a KR7A-RAID. He turned on the computer and there was a long beep, followed by two short, a pause, and then two low pitched beeps - short and long. Thinking it was the video card, he swapped in an older Voodoo 3 and now the beep code is different. It's a long followed by two short, a pause, and then repeated high pitched beeping. He's tried swapping different sticks of RAM and everything is unhooked or removed from his computer except the CPU and the RAM. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hmm, look over the capacitors on the board and see if any of them have bulged and/or leaked their electrolyte, perhaps.

Well, since the beep changed when you changed the video card, try another one or two cards. If that doesn't tell you anything, unplug all the drives and other cards, and try again.

Nope. The capacitors look fine.

We already have everything unplugged and we don't have any more video cards to test with.

I think the high pitched beeping with the V3 may be the board warning you it's a 3.3v card and not 1.5v card but I checked Abit's data base and there was no *2 which means supports 1.5v cards only by the KR7A series boards so I can't say for certain. Now the 1 long 2 short is definitely the video code so trying another 1.5v card might be a good idea. Personally the last time I heard the 1long 1short code was on a AK31A and it was belly up Tried clearing the CMOS, pulling the battery for awhile, booting barebones out of the case with different everything and still the dee dooooo.
