system wont boot

I got a new case today - an Antec Lanboy with 350w psu. Old case was Antec with 300w psu. I switched everything over into the new case, and now the system wont boot. It doesn't even get to any BIOS screen on the monitor. I've checked and rechecked all the cabling. The fans come on - cpu mobo, and psu fan all turn on. It's a pretty basic system:

EPox 8rda3
Athlon Barton 2500
512 Kingston HyperX 3200
2 WD 40gb Hdd
Nvidia 5200fx video

... I did add a new DVD burner, but I can't see how that is a problem because it doesn't even reach a BIOS screen.

What are the possibilities here? I feel very sure that all the cabling is correct. I've reviewed my mobo manual and the manual for the new case, and everything seems to be cabled up correctly. Very confusing!

Oh another thing - I did clear/reset cmos after it wouldn't boot. Still it doesn't boot up.

um...did u make sure every cable is connected properly?

is the motherboard touching the metal case causing a short?

I did screw some extra screws fitting the mobo into the case, without the rubber washers (couldn't find any extras). This isn't required, though, I can try taking those out.

:Scratches head: "Rubber washers" for mounting the motherboard?

Your using the motherboard stand-offs included with the case right?

Yes - the stand offs are there. But there are some small washers used with most the screws going into the stand offs. I just took out the ones without them - still no luck anyway.

Not looking good now - I unplugged everything and then reconnected just the video card and power cabling. It doesn't boot to BIOS at all still! I think something must have shorted. Possibly ruined the mobo?

do you get a post beep? What brand is the new psu, I would try the old psu and see if you could get it to post. Also do you have the 4 prong connector from the psu connected to the motherboard?

Yeah I get a post beep. The LED code shows that it doesn't get past any initializations. It's showing the first code (C0h). I do have that 4 prong power connector too.

What about, What brand is the new psu, I would try the old psu and see if you could get it to post.

Problem solved (after much aggravation) - I took out the RAM then reinserted it, and it booted right up.
