System won't boot to my CD!!!

I just recently put together a new system and when I start it up all it starts up fine but then stops at the message (SDRAM at DIMM(s):1,2,). When it gets to this message the cursor is blinking but I can't type anything at all. I am able to get into BIOS and I checked all the settings to make sure everything is ok. There is no operating system on the Hdrive and the processor is an Athlon 1.4 Tbird. I checked the ram and it is in the right way. The system recognizes the ram but keeps getting stuck at that message. The motherboard is a ECS Elitegroup K7AMA. Dude just go into your BIOS and set the CD-ROM/DVD as the first boot device. It'll be something generic like "ATAPI CD-ROM" or something like that, but set that to the primary boot device and you should be able to boot from your CD drive.

also make sure you have the jumpers on the drives set right (master or slave positions) and that the ide cables are connected correctly.

Also, make sure that you do not have a cordless keyboard attached to the USB port at the time you try to boot off the CD. I know this sounds crazy, but I went through the same thing this weekend when trying to install XP Pro. My mobo is a Gigabyte 7IXE4, and when it attempts to boot from the CD, it prompts you to strike a key. Well, at that point, the cordless keyboard hasn't received an ack. from the USB, and therefore fails the CD bootup process.

When I put a standard PS/2 keyboard in there, it recognize my keystroke and booted right off the CD.

Again, this is probably not what you're dealing with here, but every bit of information helps!
