System Upgrade Questions

I'm starting to get antsy for a new upgrade and have some preliminary ideas after researching a bit.

My current system is:
AMD 2800+ CPU
Epox 8RDA+ MB
1GB Ram (2x 512 MB, both are DDR3200)
BFG Geforce 6800GT OC
SoundBlaster Audigy ZS Gamer

I have approx $600 to spend and was looking at an AMD 3800+x2, s939 motherboad (prob the Epox 9NRA+ since I've had good experiences with Epox), and 2GB OCZ Platinum RAM, keeping the sound and video cards.

I mostly use my PC for gaming, but I occasionally do video editing.

Does this seem like a reasonable use of money? Anyone know of anything that would be better to spend the money on performance wise?

Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure what you should do exactly because if you get a new motherboard, you're likely going to have to find an older model that still supports AGP for your video card. When you upgrade your vid card again, you're going to have to get another mobo with PCI-e. I don't see the Epox 9NRA+ listed on the Epox site, I think there's a 9NPA, but that's PCI-e only. You could try going with the ASRock 939dual that as both an AGP and PCI-e slot.

Save your money until socket m2.

If you want to wait until socket AM2 is released, you'll have a limited selection of expensive parts. I'd wait a year until it becomes mainstream, bugs are fixed and DDR2 shows some improvements. Verdict? Socket 939 is still your best bet!
