System Upgrade advice needed

I am currently running:
Athlon XP 2000
Biostar N7VIF MB
512 MB Generic PC2700 ram
Geforce 4600
80gb Maxtor ATA133
Audigy 5.1
In a generic case

This is what I am considering swapping in
Asus A7N8X
Athlon XP 2500 Barton
Glacialtech Igloo 2500
1gig of Kingston CL2 PC2700

Question: Is the ram upgrade worth the $$??
I am considerieng sticking with the mem I have and upgrading to an Antec LanBoy case, or possibly doing the case upgrade and another stick of generic ram to match what I have. Price is a factor...I would like to try to keep the total upgrade to as low as possible and get the most bang for the $$.
Also can anyone suggest anything other then the LanBoy case(looking for aluminum case with powerincluded )?

Thanks

Where's the point in "upgrading" from a XP2000 to a XP2500? Unless you have some wild dreams of overclocking, save your money for something better.

But get another case if you want too and 1gb of ram isn't a bad idea.

CL2 RAM will get you a few more FPS in games if it's worth the money get it, but if cash is limited stick with your old 2700.

Upgrading to a CPU that's only 25% faster is rarely worthwhile. Same with video cards.

The best thing to do is not upgrade either until a game is out that won't play well on your current system. By then the 9800 Pro might be $300 instead of $400, and all three fx 5900 cards should be out (hopefully with non-cheating drivers).
