system stability???

my system has only ran prime95 for 2.5 hours... is this stable enough? i'm running 185X12.5 at 1.750 vcore. what else should i do, i'd really like to get to a stable 200 fsb

Generally, people will say to run 12 - 24 hours of Prime95. I've had Prime95 errors in the 8 or 9th hour of running before. So, I would say run it longer, like overnight.

Oh. If it errors at all, that's a sign of not being stable. If you want to see if you can run 200MHz, I would set the FSB at 200MHz and lower the multiplier to 10. Run Prime95, if it's stable and doesn't error, then slowly increase the multiplier to test the overclockability of the CPU.

Generally if it takes that long it wont cause any problems but slightly step down ur oc is ur want it to run through Prime95 perfectly

Well, it deppends on how you run your system. I ran through Prime95 for 4 hours no error (I stopped it) but I crashed in UT2k3 pretty quickly with all displays maxed out. Prime95 is an indication of system stability wrt cpu/RAM. You might try VDIMM increase rather than VCORE. Are your temps good? That's what ultimately limits your o/c.

i'm runnin 186X12.5 with 1.175 vcore with mem settings at 11,2,2,2 with stock voltage on memory

i really wanna get this system to run prime95 stable, but i don't know what else to do, i was running 2.4gHZ but prime95 caught an error in like 5 seconds, what to do, what to do

Lower your multiplier.

If it's not stable at your current settings, and you can't give it more voltage or better cooling (or both), then your overall Mhz are too high. I don't know how high you're expecting it to go.

If you just want to get a 200 FSB then try 200x10,10.5, or 11. All are lower overall MHz then you're trying to run now, and more likely to be stable.

i ran prime 95 for 12 minutes before i got an error at 200x11 with 1.175 vcore!!!

do i need to lower the vcore or what?????

lowered vcore to 1.175 and ran prime for 1 hour and 6 minuters before it got an error, what should i do?

1.175 vcore is not what you want. bump it up to 1.8V and try 11x200, probably should work. also what RAM timings are you running? 1G of RAM is harder to get stable at high clocks

uhhh, dammit!!! why couldnt u have told me this 4 days ago!!! i figured that out about 3 hours ago, i went to default timings (was at 11,2,2,2) and 200x11 worked stable as a rock, trying out 11.5x200 right now, maybe i'll even get to 12.5x200!!!

i dont really wanna go to 1.80 right now, thats too high for me, full load right now is only 47C, by how long will 1.80 vcore shorten cpi life, and what can more voltage really hurt, and also, if i raise my mem voltage to 2.7, will i be able to use the low timings???

Wow that would make you the fastest AMD on the planet.......

And Prime95 errors are not only a function of CPU but of northbridge and memory. I would suggest making sure your memory is stable with memtest-86.

ha ha, it went a looooong time on 11x200, but only lasted 2.5 hours 11.5x200. if i drop back to 11x200, can i start increasing my fsb even if i only have pc3200 memory? how do i increase fsb without OCing my memory???

Use your memory multipliers to keep it below stock speed or just try loosening the timings to something like 7 3 3 2 or 2.5.

imo, sacrificing mem speed for over 200 fsb wont give you anymore speed. 200 fsb is pretty dang good already. actually 7 3 3 2 isn't too bad, just never go to 2.5, it wont be worth it

ok, my mem settings are at default, 8,3,3,2.5T, and i'm running at 11.5x200, but i still get prime95 error after 2.5 hours, what should i do?? my vcore is at 1.775, and my mem voltage is at 2.6, what ahould i try to change???

just leave prime alone man skip it tah dahhh. Run what you do daily and if it dont crash thats good and prime guy said you need a really really high stress program to crash your pc like prime95.I had 166fsb and it failed quickly but ran my pc so good and fast and stable.
