Hey All,
I'm trying to put together a new system and was hoping for some feedback on my selections. I want a fast, solid system but not really into overclocking. I also want to make the most of Vista but don't want to wait for the hybrid hdd's. I already have a Raptor 150GB.
These prices may not be the best but I'm more concerned about getting the good hardware. Please post any comments or concerns you may have (something better for the price?). I also need to pick out the RAM still (8500 or 6400?). Any suggestions? If this is the wrong forum, please let me know. Thanks alot! Loyal AT fan here.

The Zalman is too expensive. For that money, get the thermalright Ultra or Xtreme 120, or a tuniq tower 120 (those are better anyway)

Spend a bit more on the motherboard and get the newer P35 chipset boards. The asus P5K Deluxe is a great board and it will support the next generation CPU's (45mm, 1333 FSB)

Do you really need Ultimate? Home premium a choice? Or you could buy the upgrade version instead....

Too much for the PSU. Get an OCZ 700W SLI PSU. (should only be a few bucks more)

You asked....

The rig looks nice. As orion said, you could probably spring for a newer board as the P35s are out. You don't really need Ultimate, not for that price. Home Premium is probably a much better deal, I don't think the extra features that Ultimate has over Premium are worth the extra $200. You could spring a little bit on the motherboard, get a cheaper case maybe and spend the extra hundies on an 8800 GTX.
Mmm, ram-wise, since you're putting so much into this guy already, may as well go with 1066. But that's just me being a little greedy.
The Thermaltake Matrix is a nice solid case also that you could get for about $50 to $100 depending on model, but you were pretty exact in your case, so maybe you like the Antec much more.
And I'm not a big fan of Antec. I've had a couple Antecs go dead on me and am cautious of them. Like orion said, a good deal is the OCZ GameXStream PSUs. The 700W is about $150, and if that's an issue, the 600W is about $120.
That's about all I have to say. I wish I had spent a bit more on my rig, now that I think about it.
