System shutting off randomly/starting up to blank screen

Going to try an EVGA NEX750B super nova PSU that someone is selling locally online for cheap and see if my life gets better.

Just inspect it as much as you can before buying it. It could be fine or it could be flaky. Those units only use Japanese capacitors on the mainboard, and use Chinese capacitors on the rest. There are two things I usually steer clear of when they are used: Power supplies and hard drives.

What do you recommend for a 650 watt PSU under $100?

I'm not aware of any really great deals right now, but if I had to buy a unit this moment, I would get the EVGA SuperNova P2 650w (model 220-P2-0650-X1). It is $98.68 at Amazon.

I checked on a great deal I saw two days ago, but it was dead. It was the EVGA 750 GQ 750w for $55 at Amazon. Although it doesn't score as high as the SuperNova P2 unit, for $55 it was a steal.

Ended up getting the EVGA Supernova 650 GS, stopped getting shutdowns, so all is good. Although the system still gets those black screen start ups occasionally.
