System shuts down after 10 seconds

Need Help!
My new computer will not start, after about 10 sec it shuts itself down. I unlocked the processor with conductive ink, and then tried to start it. Stupidly I hadn't tested it before unlocked it. Have I done something wrong and does anyone have an idea how to solve it?

I've got tbird 750, abit kt7a, 256Mbyte Ram, asus v7100 MX.

Try booting into safe mode (press F8 right before windows logo comes up). It might still happen, so if it does try "safe mode command prompt only". Then if it shuts down its definitely hardware. I've managed to make windows shutdown while its trying to boot (after changing the speed it happens often the first boot, till I lower the speed again)

What bios do you have in that machine? And do you have a heatsink fan pluged into header 1. If not, with one particular bios it will shut down the machine for safety reasons thinking there is no heatsink fan. You can turn this "feature" off in newer bios.

The fan is running ok, and is in the fan1 connector. So I don't think that's the reason.
It shuts down before anything is shown in the display.

When unlocking does it change the default multiplier setting? Havn't ran the mobo with any processor prior to this, so could it be that it tries to run with 12x and fails doing that?

hold down the insert key, then turn on the power, and continue holding down the insert key till you see the bios screen. this will set your cpu to default settings.

I tried to hold done the insert key, but that didn't change anything. The computer shuts down before anything comes up on the display. I have triple checked that I use the fan1 connector. Tested the mobo without cpu and then it doesn't shut down.
Before it dies, three long sound signals comes from the internal speaker.

ya what i recommend is rest all jumpers to default...boot the cpu at default multiplier or "automatic" no overclocking...clear cmos...try that...get back to us on progress....

well I went with a tbird a few months ago with a kt7 motherboard and it did the same thing. I had to rma the order cause I couldn't get anywhere and they ended up taking the processor back and giving me another so I guess it was doa. the new one worked in the same rig and im still using it on another motherboard. also that setup wasn't giving me beep codes.

I finally solved it!! System is up running🙂)

Tried almost everything before I found it out. I tested all the components in a friends computer and they worked just fine. Lastly I borowed his fan and then it worked...
Turned out that my fans controlsignal was the problem, it spins perfect but the mobo thinks it's broken.😉)
So then I had to flash the bios with a new one that disables that evil function. Lucky as I am the computer hangs during the flash😉), but it turned out that the bios was only partially messed up, couldn't enter bios but it found the floppy drive🙂)) and I was able to reflash it.

Thanks for your help!
