System restore will not open

When I try to open system restore I get an error message that says it has detected an error and must shut down. I ran spyboy and it found some spyware "isearchtech", "windows Security center.antivirusOverride" and "DYfuca". Can someone tell me what I can do? Spybot fixed the errors. It now runs clean but still can't open system restore.

well I think the windows security center antivirus override is if you have another antivirus program that allows you to disable security center messages to aviod conflict. I find that all the time with spy bot, as for the system restore issue I have never in my life gotten a system restore to work.

Thanks for replying. Yeah I found that windows firewall was off and McAffee was using theirs. The only reason I'm trying to restore is because my desktop is getting squirrely about rebooting. When I try to reboot, it hangs up on the windows xp screen.

I have had that happen before, a long time ago, where it takes about 9 million years to reboot or it just gets stuck on the windows XP is shutting down

I would tell you try and find a software similar to Norton Win Doctor to fix some of your errors, as for the system restore not working I couldnt tell you because I have never been able to answer that one myself
